In stark contrast to yesterday’s post, a study by First National Real Estate has found that 26 per cent of women surveyed felt that agents tended to take more notice of their partners when they buy a home together. And it seems to get worse for older women, with this figure rising to 30 per cent of women aged over 50.
This definitely isn’t good for business, but more importantly it’s discriminatory to ignore one partner because of their gender. Do these agents think about this sort of thing when dealing with their clients?
What would be interesting is to find out if there was any difference between male and female agents. I think there could be.
