Reader’s Digest have once again released the results of their survey of 1000 Australians to discover Australia’s most trusted professions. It seems to happen every year, and once again real estate agents rank poorly – below celebrities, sex workers, and taxi drivers, and only above car salesmen, politicians, and telemarketers.
Why is it that the people who are entrusted with selling our most valuable possessions (our houses) aren’t trusted?
Granted, there have been some horror stories about real estate agents ripping people off, but there have also been some terrible stories in the media about doctors, police officers, and accountants who all rank considerably higher than real estate agents. Is it just a category that we place agents into, or are there really lots of people out there having terrible experiences when buying or selling property? I’m really not sure, but if you’d like to share your ideas please add a comment below.
